The First Drug Awareness Activity

Before she left, short term volunteer Yee Hung Man from the United Kingdom conducted an outdoor drug awareness activity for the youth of Bucana. This was the first time that these youth discussed their concerns about the drug problem in their community as well as share how they can be part of the healing process. Although the youth were able to express the ideal, it cannot be denied that they are still fearful about the idea of welcoming drug affected youth to their group as part of their healing. This is understandable and so we continue to ask for prayer. Pray for continued drug prevention and drug awareness activities that will be conducted in the future. Pray for wisdom as Mang facilitates the community-based drug rehab. Pray for the youth and their parents to fully grasp their role in the healing of the community. Pray for Yee Hung as she seeks God’s leading regarding coming back to Davao to help us out again.
