Help Still Needed
Dear Friends,
We trust that this letter finds you well especially amidst these trying days. We thank God that despite the desperation and suffering, we can still be in the position to serve and help others.
Greenhills Christian Fellowship (GCF) has been on relief and rescue mode since Saturday (Septmber 26) when typhoon Ondoy brought heavy rains and flashfloods in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces. Through the generous giving of donors, members, family and friends, we were able to purchase 4 rubber boats which we have been using to bring stranded and endangered people to safety and bring relief goods to people who could stay in their homes but couldn’t get needed supplies. Places where flood waters have receded and already accessible by land transport were visited by our teams to deliver goods. Roving medical teams have been organized as well to go as far as roads can take so we could deliver much needed immediate medical assistance especially to babies and children.
Our supplies are fast running out but many have yet to be reached. We feel that we have barely scratched the surface. We ask you to please consider extending whatever form of help you can give:
þ Babies in evacuation centers are getting sick. They need clothes, clean diapers, feeding bottles and blankets and mats to sleep on.
þ Medicines especially for fever, cough and colds for babies, children and adults.
þ Ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook food.
þ Clothes for men, women and children.
þ Slippers
