…Mang’s ministry? He is thoroughly enjoying his new ministry involvement with Open Doors.
He is mainly involved in training pastors, church workers and believers in some Asian countries who are suffering for their faith.
He does quite a lot of traveling (at least once a month) and is truly learning and applying what quality family time means.
He recently helped set up a structure for the disaster victims of a Southeast Asian country.
He’ll appreciate your prayers for wisdom, safety and maximum impact in the places where God leads him.
…the offer for Grace to work with Gospel Recordings? While the Australian leadership expressed their desire in getting her to be the Philippine director, the Philippine board decided to choose a male candidate. We praise God for making His will known to us.
…Grace’s studies at the University of the Philippines? She has finished the first draft of her thesis and is getting ready to defend in September or October. Pray that her adviser and her panel members would be available within the next one month and a half so her defense can go as planned. As she waits for defense day, Grace serves as a substitute teacher for the 3rd and 4th year high school students of Cornerstone Academy of Quezon City. She took over Teacher Melissa Cumpio’s class who gave birth to her second child. Grace will be teaching Grammar, Composition and Research Writing every Monday for two months.
…the rehabilitation center in India? The Gamnuam Christian Home (de-addiction center) has officially closed down after more than twenty years of service to the community. The whole family agreed that it was God’s time for the ministry to come to its end. During our trip to India in June, the family spent time to prayerfully seek God’s leading. He showed us II Corinthians 5:17 which became the basis for the Metamorphosis Center (the new name of our compound). We felt that God is starting a new thing in our midst and we would like to respond to His leading. We have turned our compound into a facility that can be rented for camps, seminars, trainings and similar functions. We also envision a youth outreach and a ministry for the elderly starting late this year. Please keep these in your prayers. (We’ll devote one blog post to these developments later.)
…Lian Ed’s scholarship in school? The directress of NEST School for Whole Child Development (see http://nest.ph and http://blog.nest.ph) informed us that a donor has been informed about Lian Ed’s scholarship need. We are just awaiting the final word. Please pray that the sponsorship would be approved and that it would be soon. Fees are high and prices of pretty much everything are sky rocketing. The scholarship would really be a big blessing.
…Josephine Himig? She is such a joy to all of us. She is now nearing her first birthday and is slowly losing her baby fat. She is able to stand on her own and take a few steps unassisted. Her first two lower teeth have popped out. She’s still fully breast-fed and so much attached to Mama. But she now has a caregiver to help attend to her needs, especially as Mama works on her paper.
…you? Is there anything you wish to share with us? Any story of faith? Any prayer request? Any reason to rejoice? Please don’t hesitate to email or SMS us.
