High Hopes for 2009!
Many are saying the new year will be bleak and difficult. But God seems to be telling our family otherwise. Towards the end of 2008, the Lord reminded us through the Christmas story of who He is--the God of the impossible. When Angel Gabriel told Mary that she was to bear the Baby Jesus, he also reminded her that nothing is impossible for God (Luke 1:37). Indeed, that is our hope as we entered 2009. God is showing our family many opportunities to obey Him and give glory to His name. Some of the tasks are easy and humanly doable but most are simply overwhelming and beyond us! Again, we are reminded that the God we serve majors in the impossible. We invite you to be part of the great things that God will do in and through us this year. Keep us in your prayer list:
1. Mang continues to serve the suffering Church by training pastors and church leaders in Asia.
2. Grace continues to teach at the Asian Theological Seminary and Messiah College while managing a tutorial center called Building Blocks which is right in our living room! (We'll tell you more about this in other updates.)
3. Lian Ed continues to study in Nest and is already in the middle of the school year.
4. Himig continues to grow and starting to talk.
5. We continue to listen to what God is saying so we could carefully do as He commands. (We'll share more in later updates.)
We encourage you to trust the God of impossibilities in 2009. This will be a great year for we shall see the Lord's power afresh.
Happy New Year!

I am always left in awe after reading updates of hopes coming to life... like what I almost always read in yours, dear sister. We sure do fear wading in the water sometimes, but God faithfully meets us where we seem to stop wading... overwhelmed you say. Yes, our hopes are higher now... after walking with God a great mile through deep waters last year. Go, go, Mang, Grace, Lian and Himig! Happy New year!:D
Praying, Gracey and family
