After 5 years...India!

Our five-year old prayer to go home to India was recently granted! Yes, our whole family has already visited our loved ones in Manipur and it was truly a blessed moment. God provided for everything from our visas to airfare to living allowance! As we sat on the plane that took us back to Manila on June 11th, Mang and I could only revel in God’s awesome goodness and faithfulness. We looked back at the past 15 days and boldly declare God is great! Indeed, He was able to do beyond what we could ever ask or imagine.

The kids and I met Mang in Kolkata (who came from a ministry trip in another Asian country) on the 28th of May. It was a real adventure for me to travel with the two kids, especially since we had to transit in Singapore to change planes. But God was so good! He provided me with “angels” along the way. A ground steward was assigned to us at each airport. And to my surprise, an old friend was in the same flight from Manila to Singapore, so I was even able to go to the toilet in peace during the flight!

During our ten days in Manipur, we were able to have a series of family meetings regarding the future direction of our ministry in India. After the drug rehab closed down, it was very discouraging for everyone in the family, especially Mang’s parents. Mang’s mom fell ill many times to the point that we thought she would die. God brought us home just at the right time. Mang’s mum and dad literally found new strength upon seeing Lian Ed and Josephine Himig. As a family, we decided to turn the wide compound that used to house the de-addiction center into a guest house and a facility for camps, conferences, seminars, etc. which could be rented out.

Below are sneak peaks of our trip home...
