Cord Coil & An Accident

Grace has recovered from the upper respiratory tract and urinary tract infections that led her to be hospitalized for four days. We can only thank God that despite three days of high fever and high level of infection, our baby inside her womb is safe and normal. She is still on bed rest due to pre-term contractions. For you who know her well, to be pinned down in bed is torturous for her but our waiting will soon be over as she will be full term by September 1. Grace’s latest ultrasound revealed that our baby girl is healthy, has positioned herself for “exit” and no longer has the umbilical cord coiled around her neck (up until last week, she had a cord coil which made us start praying and preparing for a caesarean section delivery). Please pray for Grace and the baby as they both get ready for the delivery. Pray, too, for God’s provisions for our growing family.

Lian Ed had a bit of an accident last week that necessitated for us to run to the Emergency Room in the middle of the night. He was spending the long weekend (it was Kadayawan Festival in Davao last weekend) with his grandparents. As he brushed his teeth on Sunday night, the ceramic sink in the bathroom got dislodged and fell on him. His forehead had an inch-long cut and as blood gushed out, Grace’s mom and dad rushed Lian Ed to the hospital but not before they phoned me. I hopped on my bike, leaving Grace bewildered and at the point of tears. Thankfully, nothing worse than a bad cut on Lian Ed’s forehead happened. The doctor stitched him up (5 stitches) and before long our active boy was up and about playing again. We did not let Lian Ed go to school this week so he can fully recover (I think we haven’t mentioned before that he has been going to a nearby pre-school for two months already. We were surprised when he asked to be brought to school. We found one that has a developmental curriculum and was willing to take him in though he was already late.) Please pray for Lian Ed’s complete healing.
