August Prayer Guide

Week 1: We thank God for giving us short-term volunteers. James Wells and Chris Fulton have gone back to the UK. They stayed at our home and helped out in the youth tutorial project for a month. James taught English in Isla Verde and Bucana. He also conducted a research on the youth profile of Isla Verde. Chris taught Math in Bucana and Times Beach. He also taught guitar lessons in Bucana, Isla Verde and Times Beach. Pray for James and Chris that they will be able to integrate their learnings here into their life in the UK. Pray for their adjustment and financial provisions as they go back to university (James in University of Leeds and Chris in Oxford University).

Week 2: This is the fifth week of the Youth Art Workshop. Pray for Dadai Joaquin, a renowned Philippine painter, who facilitates the workshop every Saturday until September 16. Pray for Grace as she coordinates this project and for other team members (Maimai, Sol, Mang, Pascal & Kaye) who are assisting. Pray for young Muslim artists to emerge from this group.

Week 3: Yee Hung, a volunteer from the UK, is coming (on August 15) to assist in the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Project for a month. Pray for a meaningful time as she helps Mang implement the project strategy plans. Pray, too, for a favorable response from the community.

Week 4: Pray for our family. Pray for good health especially because the weather changes within the day. Grace and Lian Ed have been suffering from cough due to allergy. Pray that they will not develop asthma. Pray for spiritual strength as well.

Week 5: Pray for our new strategy coordinator, Jerry Laurencio. Pray for his adjustment to the new role he’s taken on in the team. Pray for his health as he has been suffering from high blood pressure. Pray for his wife, Anna, who is on the family way. Pray for their son, Joshua, to enjoy pre-school.
